A 25-year-old woman is in critical condition after being stabbed in the neck with a glass bottle in SoHo on Monday afternoon, according to the NYPD.
Police said they received a 911 call around 3:04 p.m. reporting an assault in progress at 480 Broome St. When officers arrived, they found the woman with a stab wound to the neck, officials said.
She was transported by EMS to NYC Health + Hospitals/Bellevue, where she remained in critical condition on Monday evening, police said.
A person of interest was taken into custody at the scene. The investigation is ongoing.
A witness told police that a glass bottle was used in the attack, but the relationship between the individuals and the circumstances leading up to the stabbing remains under investigation.
This is a developing story and may be updated.
