Police are looking for a woman who allegedly vandalized a 9/11 memorial in Brooklyn. Cops say that the incident happened between 2:30 a.m. and 3 a.m. on Friday morning at the Brooklyn Wall of Remembrance at Coney Island MCU's Park (the home of the Cyclones). The suspect, a white female in her late 40's to early 50's, walked up to the memorial and, using her hands, smeared white paint on the memorial.

The memorial features the names and images of 346 FDNY firefighters, 37 Port Authority officers, 23 NYPD officers, and a K-9 rescue dog. The Post says that three laser-engraved portraits of NYPD members killed that day were vandalized, in particular a portrait of Moira Smith, the only female officer killed on 9/11. "This is extremely personal," City Councilman Mark Treyger told the Post. "There is some evidence left behind that we hope will bring whoever’s responsible to justice."

Anyone with information in regards to this criminal mischief is asked to call the NYPD's Crime Stoppers Hotline at 800-577-TIPS. The public can also submit their tips by logging onto the Crime Stoppers website or texting their tips to 274637(CRIMES) then enter TIP577.
