The police are hoping the public can help them find a man who opened fire in Bedford-Stuyvesant early yesterday morning.

According to the NYPD, at 1:10 a.m. on Sunday, July 6, a 25-year-old man was sitting on the stoop of 184 MacDonough Street when another man opened fire, hitting the victim multiple times. Here's surveillance footage:

The footage appears to show the gunman and victim talking before the gunman removes his gun from his waistband. The victim was taken to a hospital in critical but stable condition.

The suspect is described as a man with a stocky build, wearing a t-shirt with the number 12 on the back. Anyone with information in regards to this incident is asked to call the NYPD's Crime Stoppers Hotline at 800-577-TIPS. The public can also submit their tips by logging onto the Crime Stoppers Website at WWW.NYPDCRIMESTOPPERS.COM or texting their tips to 274637(CRIMES) then enter TIP577.
