An NYPD officer was captured on video that surfaced this weekend grabbing a woman by the neck in Little Italy and allegedly choking her. The video is titled "NYPD Officer caught on camera CHOKING a woman! Wtf?!?!"

The incident, first reported by the Post, happened in front of 195 Hester Street between Mulberry and Baxter streets. It's unclear what precipitated the incident, but you can see two officers in the midst of detaining a woman in the video below. The woman appears to be running from the cops when the video starts, and then the sergeant grabs her from behind and places his hand on her throat.

The NYPD has not responded to inquiries about the incident yet, and it's unclear when this happened. We'll update once we learn more.
