An 80-year-old man was mugged inside his apartment building by two men yesterday. The attack occurred Thursday around 3:15 p.m. on the Upper East Side after the two suspects followed the victim into the building. One put the elderly man into a chokehold when they reached the second floor, while the other grabbed his wallet. You can see surveillance video of the suspects entering and then fleeing the building below.
The first suspect is described as a 30-year-old Hispanic man who is 5-foot-9 and weighs 180 pounds—he was carrying an orange backpack during the incident. The second suspect is described as a bald 30-year-old Hispanic man, 6-foot-3 weighing 200 pounds. No arrests have been made yet, and police ask that anyone with information call the NYPD's Crime Stoppers Hotline at 800-577-TIPS.
