According to police, a 25-year-old woman fatally ran over her 17-year-old boyfriend in the Bronx earlier today after a drunken fight over a broken iPhone. The incident occurred just before 2 a.m. at the corner of Morris Avenue and 165th Street. Victim Franklin Hernandez had been fighting with older girlfriend Jasmine Diaz over a broken cell phone when it became physical. “She hit him and he pushed her back,” said Hernandez's sister Nereida. Hernandez left, and Diaz got into her 2003 gold Lincoln Navigator and allegedly hit him twice, then fled the scene. “She ran over my baby twice!” the victim’s devastated mother, Iris Hernandez, told the News. “I ran down to the street and it was too late. His head was crushed. He wasn’t moving. There was blood everywhere.”

Hernandez was taken to Lincoln Hospital, where he was declared dead. The boy's mother told the Post the couple had been together for two years, and that Diaz was the teen’s former babysitter. “They grew up together. He didn’t want to leave her,” she said. “She’s crazy. She likes to hit him and take advantage of him.” According to his family members, Hernandez accidentally dropped and broke Diaz’s iPhone, which is what inspired the fight. “She was screaming at him about her cell phone,” Iris Hernandez told the News. “He was saying it was an accident. She didn’t care. She was hysterical.”

Police found Diaz hiding out in her mother's apartment in the Fleetwood section of the Bronx; she has been taken in by police for questioning, and charges are pending. “I want her to rot in hell,” Iris Hernandez added. “Jail is too good for her. She needs to rot in hell.”
