Hey kids of Gothamlandia, not only is this Severe Weather Awareness Week it is also Air Quality Awareness Week! You should go read them to remind yourself of what to do when bad weather or bad air strikes. You should also read them and skip the rest of this post because this forecast is bound to be more inaccurate than usual.
For the rest of today the forecast is pretty easy: Mostly sunny and dry with a high in the low 60s. The situation gets tricky after midnight as a storm approaches from the Midwest. That storm is being fueled by an upper level low that will likely produce light rain overnight and through the day tomorrow. Once the upper low passes we'll be left with a warm front to our south that's going to flop around for several days like a fish out of water. How warm, cloudy and rainy it will be depends on the location of the front, and nobody has a good handle on that. So, look for highs anywhere in the 60s on Wednesday and Thursday, or maybe even warmer on Thursday. Both days will probably be more cloudy than sunny.
The warm front will probably move north through the city sometime late Thursday or early Friday. Look for a much warmer Friday, with a high approaching 80 degrees. Warm and humid with a cold front approaching late Friday? That adds up to showers or a thunderstorm Friday night.
