This week, an off-duty traffic cop out of Brooklyn was arrested for allegedly drugging and raping a teen. NYPD Traffic Enforcement Agent Charles Taylor, 25, has been accused of date raping a 17-year-old girl last Sunday. But neighbors told WPIX that they don't believe Taylor could be guilty: "I know he's a hard worker...I don't believe the accusations," said next door neighbor Michael Darius. "He's a great guy."

Eddie Felder, who is also the president of the tenants' association in Taylor's building, echoed those statements: "Whoever is saying [these charges] needs to check their self, 'cause that guy don't mess with nobody." Taylor and the victim met last week, and had been texting and calling for several days. They went on a date Sunday evening, meeting at the corner of Dekalb and Flatbush Avenues in Brooklyn.

The teen later claimed that Taylor slipped a tranquilizing drug into her drink. "You're almost to a state of unconciousness," retired NYPD detective Wally Zeins explained about the date rape drug allegedly used. "You're almost in a state of passing out." In her disoriented state, Taylor drove her from Brooklyn to his apartment at the Bronx River Houses, in the Park Versailles section of the Bronx, where he allegedly raped her.

Taylor has been part of the NYPD’s traffic division since 2008, but could only write parking summonses and direct traffic in Brooklyn South. He has been suspended without pay.
