As if we didn't have enough going on, a tornado warning was issued earlier today for parts of New York City, including the Bronx and Northern Manhattan.

The NYC Emergency Management issued the warning at 2:40 p.m., urging all New Yorkers to "immediately take shelter on lower floors." The warning, which appears to have been cancelled as of 3 p.m., also covered parts of Westchester and Nassau counties.

A severe thunderstorm warning is also in effect for much of the city, with the possibility of damaging wind gusts.

Councilman Mark Levine shared on Twitter that he'd heard reports that the tornado had touched down on Seaman Avenue in Inwood.

Northern New Jersey also experienced hail earlier on Tuesday, as well as 60 mile per hour wind gusts. Residents reported "marble sized hail."

Let this be yet another reason to stay inside.
