The weather doesn't get much better than this for an extended July 4th weekend. Today is going to be warm, with a high in the upper 80s, and slightly humid thanks to a southwesterly breeze ahead of a cold front. The humidity and weak front may produce a shower or thunderstorm this afternoon.
The front will pass through the region tonight, ushering in drier air and mostly sunny skies for Independence Day. Tomorrow's high will be around 84 degrees, which is the long-term average high for almost every day in July. The dry weather will continue into Wednesday as high pressure over northern Quebec drifts slowly southward. Wednesday's high will be in the low 80s
Thursday is expected to still be dry and slightly cool with a high near 80 but mostly cloudy skies will presage the approach of another cold front toward the end of the week. That next front looks like it will take its time arriving, giving us a good chance of showers or thunderstorms on Friday and Saturday before giving way to drier weather on Sunday. Daily highs over the weekend and well into next week should hew very close to normal in the low to mid 80s.
