We hope you enjoyed that sunshine, New Yorkers. Because you probably won’t see much of it for the rest of the workweek.
Meteorologist James Tomasini with the National Weather Service said the high-pressure system that’s been granting the region glorious, sunny and dry spring days is sliding east.
Meanwhile, a slow-moving low-pressure system is approaching New York City from the southwest, bringing cloudy conditions with chances for showers though the end of the week, according to Tomasini.
“It looks like as of right now the most likely period for any showers would be overnight Tuesday and through the day Wednesday,” he said. “Just be prepared for wet conditions if you're out and about this week.”
Tomasini added that there’s a slight chance of thunderstorms Wednesday evening through Thursday morning.
Temperatures will hover around 70 degrees, according to the forecast — the low 70s Tuesday, upper 60s Wednesday and into the mid- or even upper 70s Thursday and Friday.
The sun is expected to return Thursday and Friday, when it will likely poke through the clouds before skies clear Saturday and remain clear through Sunday.
