A 16-year-old boy was stabbed and injured near a Bronx high school Wednesday morning, according to NYPD officials.

First responders found the teenager around 8:45 a.m. near Terrace View and Tibbett avenues in Marble Hill, which is right near the entrance to the John F. Kennedy High School, police said.

Officials said the teenager was stabbed in his abdomen but they were still investigating what caused the incident and whether he was on his way to school at the time.

Police announced no immediate arrests. They said paramedics took the teen, whom they did not identify, to NewYork-Presbyterian Hospital in stable condition.

This is a developing story based on preliminary information from police and may be updated.
