Subway etiquette is a touchy subject any which way you poke a fork at it; everyone remembers the subway etiquette signs that artist Jason Shelowitz put up earlier this year, not to mention sites dedicated to calling out subway eaters and subway douchery (that latter of which inspired a considerable amount of irritation here).
amNewYork has put their own spin on the subway etiquette debate today, asking a series of experts to analyze annoying straphanger behavior. In particular, they identify the six most common subway rider positions: the Door Hoverer, the Corner Seeker, the Wide Sitter, the Wanderer, the Pole Hog and the Pole Avoider (the last two sound way too ripe for parody...). They neglect to analyze straphangers who like to hold the pole with their butts. Check out the full analysis here.
