If your arm was nearly chopped in off in a fatal car crash over the summer, then painstakingly reattached through several surgeries, the first thing you'd do when you got out of the hospital is rob your local Little League office with your homeless BFF, right? Totally!

That's exactly what Kayla Madden, 17, who barely survived a nasty car crash on Staten Island in August, did. Madden was busted this weekend for breaking into the Great Kills Little League Complex to steal electronics and coins from arcade games—twice.

One robbery occurred three weeks before the crash, when Madden was caught on surveillance camera allegedly stealing two public address speakers, two CD players, a scorecard and a speaker stand and amplifier, valued altogether at over $1,000. The second robbery occurred on October 16, when Madden, accompanied by Victor Raimo, 22, who is homeless, broke into the Complex and used a crowbar to bust open arcade games and take $250 in coins. That is some seriously old-school technique!

"Never in my wildest dreams did I think she’d be capable of doing this, especially with one bad arm," said retired NYPD cop Robert Friscia, who saved Madden's life after the crash and has kept in touch with her family. He said that Madden is scheduled to go back to the hospital for more surgeries this week. "Just to keep the place running, you barely make ends meet," Little League president Frank Cambria told SILive. "And then they rob you. It's a sad thing for the community."

Madden is being held at Rikers in lieu of $5,000 bail following her arraignment yesterday in Stapleton Criminal Court.
