The candidate who has vowed to stop the spread of obscene pornography hurled an obscenity yesterday at a New York Times reporter after a campaign speech in Wisconsin. When Jeff Zeleny asked Rick Santorum about calling Mitt Romney "the worst Republican in the country," the candidate snapped, "Stop lying…quit distorting my words…if I see it, it's bullshit." Somewhere, a strategist is on his sixth Diet Dr. Pepper, furiously coaching Mitt Romney through the word "C-R-A-P."
Zeleny accurately described the encounter as a flailing attempt to use the media as a foil, as Newt Gingrich has done in the past: “He clearly knew the cameras were rolling here." Oh, but did he realize his daughter was right next to him, her wholesome ears drenched in the vulgarities of her progenitor? Tell those sweatervest sweatshops to switch to leather: Santorum is the guy the Republicans want to sneak a smoke in the bathroom with before 7th period.
It appears that Salty Santorum (has your MIND EXPLODED?) is here to stay, particularly because Romney has the numbers on his side. So Rick is here to illustrate that the world as you know it under another term of Obama will turn into The Hills Have Eyes 3: Wait Aren't Obama's Eyes The Same Color As Mahmoud Ahmadenijad's?
A Santorum spokesman denies there being an explicit Obama/Evil Dictator Bent On Murdering Babies connection. Via Politico:
Q: Is the moment when Ahmadenijad and Obama's images are interspersed meant to suggest that they are the same person?
Gidley: Don't be ridiculous. He's the president of the United States, Ahmadenijad is the president of our sworn enemy. I'm don't know that it was 'interspersing,' I'm confused by that. Obviously I'm not trying to say anything about Obama and Ahamdenijad. So if we're not trying to say anything about that, then I don't understand the issue.
Yeah, unlike this ridiculous ad, don't be ridiculous. "Interspersing?" Sounds like a bullshit New York Times word.
