A Norway spruce nestled in a rural hamlet in upstate New York will soon be on display in one of Manhattan's busiest tourist destinations.
The 76-foot tree from West Edmeston, in central New York, will be cut down on Thursday, Nov. 5, and transported to Rockefeller Center on Saturday, Nov. 7.
It'll then be decked out with more than 50,000 LED lights and a Swarovski star before being lit during the live "Christmas in Rockefeller Center" broadcast on Wednesday, Dec. 2.
The roughly 75-year-old tree will serve as the backdrop for ice skaters and shoppers who will flock to Rockefeller Center this holiday season.
The Rockefeller Center Christmas tree will remain on display until Jan. 9, 2027. After the holiday season, it'll be milled into lumber for Habitat for Humanity.
