A woman is suing Rikers after two female guards allegedly forced her to disrobe so they could check out her breast implants.
According to the NY Post, 26-year-old Jeanette Reynoso was at the jail visiting her husband last month when she was pulled into the visitors search room and told to take off her clothes. Court papers say that once she was naked, the guards allegedly launched an “extreme full-body cavity search,” despite Reynoso's protestations.
Reynoso has been visiting the jail three times a week since her husband was arrested on reckless endangerment charges in July.
“I don’t know why this was happening. Then I realized they wanted to see my body,” she told the tabloid, adding that she'd gotten a liposuction and breast implants in May. “I knew they wanted to see what was under my clothes because, at the end of the process, they had the nerve to ask me who operated on me, how much my operation cost and whether it hurt.”
On prior trips, Reynoso said that she'd never undergone more than a pat-down and trip through the metal detector. But during her visit on October 2nd, the guard who typically screened her was not there. When Reynoso protested her treatment, the guards allegedly threatened to suspend her visitation privileges for 45 days.
Reynoso has filed a $10 million notice of claim against the city, on the basis that she suffered from post-traumatic stress disorder and depression from the incident.
