Presidential hopeful Rick Perry is taking a page of his "brother" Herman "9-9-9" Cain's book by proposing a flat tax to revive his flagging campaign.
Of course, that liberal rag, the NY Times, notes, "A major result of adopting a flat tax would generally make the tax system more regressive, thereby reducing the percentage for high-income earners but increasing burden on lower-income groups," and that despised left-winger Mitt Romney is anti-flat tax.

Perry also took issue with the media's idea that Romney will win the nomination, saying, "Primary voters and caucus voters haven't gotten that memo yet... You will not hear a lot of shape-shifting nuance from me. I'm going give the American people a huge helping of unbridled truth." Oh, please truth us!

Still, a new poll from Iowa shows that Perry is 6th place at 7 percent: "Herman Cain led the latest poll with support from 28 percent of those surveyed, followed by Mitt Romney with 21 percent. U.S. Rep. Ron Paul, R-Texas, was third with 10 percent, trailed by Newt Gingrich at 9 percent and Michele Bachmann at 8 percent."
