A Manhattan developer was arrested yesterday after he allegedly fled the scene of a fatal crash in the Hamptons. Sean Ludwick, 42, was driving a Porsche in the village of Sag Harbor when he crashed into a telephone pole around 2 a.m. on Sunday morning. His passenger, a 53-year-old real estate agent with Douglas Elliman named Paul Hansen, was thrown from the vehicle and died at the scene.
A source tells the NY Post that the crash occurred "outside the house where Hansen lived with his wife and two sons, ages 11 and 13." SagHarborOnline reports that police received multiple 911 calls around 2 a.m. as Ludwick allegedly fled the scene in his Porsche.
Ludwick was arrested "down the road" from the fatal crash. He's expected to be arraigned this morning on charges of driving while intoxicated and leaving the scene of a fatal accident.
Ludwick was arrested last year after he broke into his ex-girlfriend's apartment and drew penises on artwork he had painted himself and given to her as gifts. He pleaded guilty to disorderly conduct in that incident, but the Post notes that Ludwick "has also been in trouble in Martha’s Vineyard. In March, he admitted to assault and battery and property destruction after a fight with his girlfriend in a hotel."
Ludwick is the founder of the Black House Development firm, which has built luxury condos and hotels around Manhattan, including the boutique Hotel Americano overlooking the High Line.
