R train riders in Brooklyn will face disruptions in January as the Metropolitan Transportation Authority suspends late-night service on the R line between the 36th Street and 95th Street stations for structural maintenance, officials said on Thursday.
The service will be halted from 11:30 p.m. Friday to 5:30 a.m. Monday during the weekends of Jan. 3-6 and Jan. 10-13.
State Sen. Andrew Gounardes shared the announcement on X just one day before the planned disruptions.
The MTA will operate free shuttle buses to cover the impacted stations, and riders are advised to use alternative routes for nearby stops, according to the MTA.
For 45th Street and 53rd Street stations, passengers can take Coney Island-bound trains, while those headed to 59th Street should transfer to the N train.
Additional transfer options are available at key stations like Atlantic Avenue and 36th Street.
