A 70-year-old Queens woman was fatally shot after answering the door to her home early this morning.

According to police, Leta Webb was found with gunshot wounds to her head and left arm, presumably after opening the door of her South Jamaica home to the gunman. She was taken to Jamaica Hospital, where she was pronounced dead.

Family members told ABC7 they first heard "very loud banging" on the door, followed by four or five shots. Webb had lived in her 119th Avenue home for around 20 years, and was well known in the neighborhood. The shooter did not take anything from the residence, and police have not yet established a motive.

No arrests have been made, and the investigation is ongoing.
