A Queens mother has been charged with murder and weapons possession for allegedly killing her adult son last week in the home they shared, according to the NYPD.
Sukken Wong, 62, was arrested Wednesday afternoon — a week after she attempted suicide by jumping off an overpass of the Van Wyck Expressway near Citi Field. When officers visited her Woodside home later that morning, they found her 25-year-old son Bryan Wong dead on a pull-out sofa.
The city medical examiner found that Bryan had died from stab wounds to his neck and torso, and ruled his death a homicide. NYPD officials said several knives were recovered at the scene.
Police said Sukken Wong was arrested and charged while still being treated at a local hospital for injuries she sustained during her suicide attempt.
Neighbors said Bryan was nonverbal, and multiple reports say he was severely autistic.
Information for Sukken’s lawyer was not immediately available early Friday. Her arraignment in Queens criminal court is pending.
