Police said they apprehended a person of interest after reports of a man with a rifle near Nelson Avenue and 172nd Street in Morris Heights, close to P.S. 199X.

Officers flooded the area, using helicopters and drones during the search, police said.

Authorities did not confirm seeing a gun, but the reports came a day after a gunman killed four people at a Midtown office building.

Police used helicopters and drones during the search.

A city schools spokesperson did not immediately respond to messages.

This is a developing story and may be updated.
