Police are looking for an escaped prisoner who wriggled his way out of police control as he was being arrested for drug possession Saturday afternoon.
52-year-old Lawrence Mason was last seen sprinting into the northbound tunnel of the 116th Street 2/3 subway at West 116th Street and Lenox Avenue around 1:05 p.m., police said. According to the Daily News, Mason has notched an impressive 40 priors, mostly for drug use.
Mason stands around 5-foot-6 and weighs around 140 pounds, with "long kinky hair, a ruddy skin complexion and brown eyes." He was last seen wearing a black baseball cap, tan work boots, a black t-shirt and dark blue jeans. Also notable: the Post reports that Mason was in cuffs when he escaped, so...keep an eye out for that.
