A train struck a person at a Downtown Brooklyn station Sunday, abruptly halting services for several lines in the afternoon, police said.
The 2, 3, 4 and 5 trains resumed service roughly an hour after the incident occurred at the Borough Hall station, officials said.
The incident is under investigation by the NYPD. Authorities did not immediately respond to requests for information on the incident — or the well-being of the individual struck by the train.
The MTA said that emergency teams were responding to the incident minutes after it occurred around 1:20 p.m. Services resumed with some delays by 2:11 p.m.
After services resumed at Borough Hall, the station periodically blasted an announcement over the intercom warning travelers of the delays.
During the period where services were halted, northbound 3 trains ended at Nevins Street station while northbound 4 and 5 lines ended at Eastern Parkway-Brooklyn Museum, according to social media posts from the MTA. Commuters were told to transfer at the Atlantic-Barclays or Bergen Street stations.
