Two years after Sandy stomped the hell out of our public transit, two long-closed PATH stations are finally reopening: The Exchange Place and World Trade Center stations will re- open tomorrow after needed signal upgrades forced them to shutter on weekends for nearly a year.

According to CBS New York, the long process of replacing 280,000 square feet of corroded and salt-damaged metal is finally over. “The signals, the switches, we had some track problems and replacing all that is difficult and at times, time-consuming work,” PATH Director Stephen Kingsberry told the station.

That doesn't mean the work is over, though. Work on the Journal Square-33rd Street via Hoboken line is planned in the later half of 2015, and the Newark-World Trade Center line needs some upgrades as well. Just as the ribbon is cut on the final, FINAL repairs, we will get slammed by another massive storm and have to start over. It's Murphy's Law.
