Mayor Bloomberg didn't mince words on Friday when he discussed the Tea Party during a radio appearance, saying it was "not a political movement," and devoid of substance. But at least one prominent NY politician not named Carl Paladino disagrees with him: Gov. Paterson, who said some favorable words about the Tea Party over the weekend.
Despite disagreeing with many of their ideas, Paterson believes most tea party members reject the extremist views of some of their members. "I think what's great about it, as we saw in 2008, is that it brings people who are not interested in government back into the process and gets people to think about their government and how it should work. And the more the public impacts on the government the better we'll be at the end," Paterson said at the annual Korean American Parade.
