It hasn't been a great year for the Parks Department's public image, what with all those raunchy holiday strip party scandals and their recent need to issue a non-fraternization policy. Now, it turns out one of the department's head honchos had 12,000 seXXXy photos on his city-issued cell phone, because sometimes you just need a porn pick-me-up when you're hard at work keeping the parks clean.

According to the Daily News, the city's been investigating the Parks Department's alleged holiday "strip" party held last December at the department's 5-boro facility on Randall's Island, in which female part-time and seasonal employees were allegedly pressured to strip and shimmy up and down a stripper pole in exchange for full-time employment. As part of the investigation, deputy chief of operations James Cafaro had to turn over his work-issued cell phone, and lo-and-behold, though Cafaro allegedly tried to delete his porn stash, investigators discovered evidence it had once held 12,000 NSFW photos of male and female genitalia.

The 53-year-old Cafaro was suspended when word about the strip parties got out back in May, along with fellow alleged super-creep Angelo Figueroa, another Parks Department supervisor. An investigation of Cafaro's phone records and text messages also revealed he allegedly exchanged some sultry texts with a female underling on a different cell phone he tried to conceal from authorities. Sound familiar?

A number of sources have said both Cafaro and Figueroa were present at December's holiday party, though both deny they attended. Meanwhile, an investigation into Figueroa's work-issued cell phone reportedly yielded six deleted photos of women's breasts and buttocks; though Cafaro is still suspended, Figueroa's suspension has been lifted.

According to a Parks Department statement they will "pursue disciplinary measures against a few other employees whose misconduct was documented by DOI." "Parks will not tolerate inappropriate behavior by its employees and will ensure that all employees can do their jobs in comfortable and supportive environment," they said.
