A 17-year-old girl was fatally stabbed in Queens Wednesday night, and police took another 17-year-old girl into custody in connection with the incident.
According to police officials, Sara Rivera was stabbed in the neck near a 7 train station at around 9:30 p.m. near Queens Boulevard and 46th Street in Sunnyside on Wednesday.
First responders took her to NYC Health and Hospitals/Elmhurst, where she was pronounced dead, police said.
NYPD officials said a 15-year-old girl was arrested and charged with second-degree murder and criminal possession of a weapon in the fourth degree on Thursday evening.
Last week, a 15-year-old girl was arrested and charged with murder for allegedly stabbing and killing 17-year-old Emery Mizell at an apartment building in the Soundview neighborhood of the Bronx.
Police said on Thursday that they still didn’t have a motive for Rivera's killing.
This is a developing story and may be updated.
