Police released their details on the awful assault of a teenager at an L train station in Brooklyn—an incident that was caught on video. And his attackers allegedly first asked him, "What gang are you in?"

2015_05_ltrainsusp2.jpgAccording to the NYPD, at 3:27 p.m., a 16-year-old boy was on a southbound L train at Broadway Junction when a group of five males approached him. The group asked him, "What gang are you in?"

When the victim said he was not in a gang, the group of males started to punch and kick the victim about the face and body. The suspects then pulled the victim off the train at the Atlantic avenue “L” station and continued to assault him. The victim was knocked unconscious by the suspects, at which point they removed the victim’s cellphone, sneakers and jeans. The suspects then fled the subway station to parts unknown.

The victim, who was taken to Brookdale Hospital, suffered a concussion and severe injury to his right eye.

The victim was removed via EMS to Brookdale Hospital, where he was admitted for a concussion and severe injury to his right eye.

The police released images of two suspects, from the NYC Transit Authority's surveillance cameras at the Broadway East New York A/J/L subway station.

Anyone with information in regards to this incident is asked to call the NYPD's Crime Stoppers Hotline at 800-577-TIPS. The public can also submit their tips by logging onto the Crime Stoppers Website at WWW.NYPDCRIMESTOPPERS.COM or texting their tips to 274637(CRIMES) then enter TIP577.
