The NYPD is asking for help identifying a man wanted in connection with a string of phone thefts in the Bronx.
According to police, the same suspect snatched iPhones from four people across four different Bronx precincts between April 4 and April 7. In each case, the man approached the victim from behind on a black moped, grabbed the phone from their hand and sped off.
No injuries were reported.
Police said the incidents occurred in the 42nd, 43rd, 46th and 50th precincts, in Charlotte Gardens, Castle Hill, Fordham Heights and Kingsbridge.
On April 4 around 9:50 p.m., a 26-year-old man was robbed near 210 West 231st St. About an hour later, a 24-year-old woman was targeted near East 174th Street and Vyse Avenue.
Shortly after midnight on April 5, a 53-year-old man was robbed in front of 1812 Harrison Ave. And on April 7 around 6:20 p.m., a 41-year-old woman had her phone taken in front of 1141 Castle Hill Ave.
All victims were holding iPhones ranging from the 11 Pro Max to the 14 model.
Police released an image of the suspect from the last incident.
Anyone with information was asked to contact the NYPD’s Crime Stoppers Hotline at 800-577-TIPS (8477) or submit tips online.
