Police are searching for the hit-and-run driver who ran over a Queens pedestrian on a Sunday morning at the beginning of July. The 63-year-old victim was seriously injured and finally succumbed to her injuries two weeks later, on July 16th.
Police say that the woman was hit around 8:14 a.m. on July 1st in front of 59-41 Myrtle Avenue in Ridgewood by a driver going westbound at "high rate of speed." The woman sustained numerous injuries to her torso and was taken to Wyckoff Hospital.
The NYPD described the driver's vehicle as a silver Nissan Sentra sedan, with damage to its driver-side doors and passenger-side rearview mirror. The police also released an image and video of the car:
A friend of the victim's daughter tells us, "A witness saw the first three letters of the license plate was HSG. It was a silver/white Nissan Sentra with the right mirror knocked out and back of the truck smashed."
Anyone with information in regards to this incident is asked to call the NYPD's Crime Stoppers Hotline at 1-800-577-TIPS (8477) or for Spanish, 1-888-57-PISTA (74782). The public can also submit their tips by logging onto the Crime stoppers website at WWW.NYPDCRIMESTOPPERS.COM or by texting their tips to 274637 (CRIMES) then enter TIP577.
