An SUV driver apparently upset at a yellow school bus blocking his path in southeastern Brooklyn violently ran over the bus driver and fled the scene Friday, police said.

The man was driving a 2020 gray Subaru Crosstrek SUV with New York plates JKE-6813, according to the NYPD.

Around 5:15 p.m. Friday, he was stopped at the traffic light at the corner of Hinsdale Street and Linden Boulevard in New Lots behind a school bus, and began honking when the bus didn’t move after the light turned green, shocking surveillance video released by the NYPD shows.

The man got out of his car and hit the bus windows, and may have broken the windshield, police said.

When the bus driver, a 44-year-old woman, stepped out of the bus and onto a nearby median to take a picture of him, the man drove his car into her, dragging her under his car into the crosswalk, the video shows. The man quickly turned right on Hinsdale Street, heading south and leaving the bus driver laying in the middle of the street.

The bus driver, whose name was not released, was taken to Brookdale Hospital where she remained in critical but stable condition Saturday.

There were no children on the bus, police said.
