The NYPD is looking for a man they say hit a woman with a stick at the Livonia Avenue L station in East New York this week.

According to police, at 2:45 p.m. on Thursday, a 37-year-old woman was walking up the steps to the Manhattan-bound L train platform at the station, when an unidentified man hit her in the back of her head from behind using a wooden stick. He then dropped the stick and fled the location; the victim was treated at Interfaith Medical Center for bruising and released.

You can see surveillance video of the alleged assailant below:

He was last seen wearing dark clothing while carrying a white plastic bag in one hand and a wooden stick in the other.

Anyone with information in regards to this incident is asked to call the NYPD's Crime Stoppers Hotline at 1-800-577-TIPS (8477) or for Spanish, 1-888-57-PISTA (74782). The public can also submit their tips by logging onto the Crime Stoppers website or by texting their tips to 274637 (CRIMES) then enter TIP577.
