An NYPD officer pulled his gun on a civilian employee inside police headquarters Thursday night, according to law enforcement officials.

Quilbvio Espinal, 35, was arrested and charged with menacing after the incident, which occurred around 10:45 p.m. at One Police Plaza in Lower Manhattan on Thursday, a police spokesperson said.

Espinal, who works in the NYPD's Information Technology Bureau, was on duty at the time, authorities said. The victim is a female civilian employee whose name has not been released. Officials declined to say what prompted the incident.

The department's Internal Affairs Bureau is investigating the matter.

The Police Benevolent Association did not immediately respond to a request for comment.

Attorney information for Espinal was not immediately available.
