Police are looking for a man they say stabbed another man on a Bronx 6 train Friday night.

NYPD officials say the victim, 36, is in stable condition after being stabbed multiple times. The attacker approached him in the 3rd Ave.-138th Street 6 train station around 9:30 p.m. Friday, according to police.

Security camera footage shows the unknown man approaching the victim and the two men shouting, police say, before the attacker takes out a knife, stabs the victim multiple times and runs away.

Police say the alleged attacker was last seen wearing a red and black shirt with a white tee and blue jeans. He was also carrying a backpack, according to the NYPD.

Overall subway crime has trended down to historic levels in 2025, but Gothamist reported last month that felony assaults on the city’s transit system — which tend to shape public perception — have been on the rise.
