An 8-month-old girl who police say was pushed from a 15th floor Bronx balcony with her mother has been upgraded to stable condition, according to police, who also identified a man wanted in connection with the incident.

The girl’s mother, 23-year-old Nathaly Ramirez, was killed Tuesday. The NYPD said she was holding her daughter when both were pushed from the apartment building at Olinville and Allerton avenues around 3:30 a.m. Tuesday. She was pronounced dead at Jacobi Hospital.

The baby had severe head trauma.

Police identified 31-year-old Angel Carrasco as wanted in connection with the incident and sought the public’s help in finding him. No arrests have been made and no attorney information was available for Carrasco.

Several residents described Carrasco as Ramirez's boyfriend. Police said the pair had a relationship.

Investigators are also checking whether the couple had a documented history of domestic violence, police said.

Neighbors told Gothamist they heard screaming and that Ramirez had talked about serious fights with her boyfriend but took it for ordinary relationship trouble.

The investigation is ongoing, police said.
