The NYPD's Hate Crime Task Force is looking for two men allegedly caught on tape drawing swastikas and profanities on the wall of Acapulco Deli and Restaurant in Greenpoint last month.

Security camera video shows two men defacing the outside of the restaurant, located at 1116 Manhattan Avenue on December 22nd at 9:20 a.m., with what looks like a marker.

A police source told the NY Post the pair also wrote, “f—k this place” and “f—k this city." (Anyone who's ever enjoyed a meal at Acapulco, known for its authentic Mexican cuisine at affordable prices compared to other places in the neighborhood, knows that these tags are not only offensive but incredibly misguided.)

New York has experienced a recent surge in anti-Semitic activity, with more than a dozen anti-Semitic incidents in the region reported in the past month including several in Brooklyn.

Reports of anti-Semitic hate crimes were up 26 percent in the city in 2019 despite record lows in crime overall, NYPD said Monday. The police department said 234 anti-Semitic incidents were reported last year compared to 186 reports in 2018.

Anyone with information about this incident or the identity of the suspects can contact Crime Stoppers at 1-800-577-TIPS (8477) or for Spanish, 1-888-57-PISTA (74782). Tips can also submitted online at www.nypdcrimestoppers.com or on Twitter @NYPDTips. All calls and tips are confidential.
