WABC 7 reports, " A man was fatally shot in Newark this morning, apparently the city's first murder in 38 days... Police say the body of the victim, in his 20s, was discovered near a car at Hunterdon Street and Lehigh Avenue just before 4 a.m." No arrests have been made yet. Last week, Newark officials were excited that March was its first murder-free calendar month since 1966 and had hoped to best 2008's 43 days (mid-March to mid-April) without a murder.
