New York City is seeing a slight uptick in COVID-19 average positivity rates even as the state saw its seven-day average positivity at 0.79% Friday and nearly three-quarters of all adults in the state have received at least one vaccine dose.
The city reported a seven-day average positivity of 1.16% Friday, up from 1.08% Thursday and 1.06% Wednesday.

Statewide, there were 342 patients hospitalized Friday, a decrease of seven patients. Of those, 73 were in intensive care units. Of those patients in ICUs, 37 were intubated.
There were three deaths in the state Friday - one person each in the Bronx, in Brooklyn and Manhattan.
"New Yorkers have fought the COVID-19 pandemic with tremendous discipline and fortitude, but it's absolutely critical to remember that vaccination is the way we beat this beast for good," Governor Andrew Cuomo said in a statement Saturday. "I urge New Yorkers who haven't taken their shot to do so right away—the faster we vaccinate the population, the faster COVID becomes a thing of the past."
According to the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention, as of Saturday 73% of adults in New York have received at least one vaccine dose and 66.5% of adults have completed their vaccination series. Of the total state population, 60.8% of all New Yorkers have received at least one dose and 55.1% have completed their vaccination series.
The state closed the large-scale vaccination site at the Javits Center Friday as well as the sites at Suffolk County Community College in Brentwood and SUNY Ulster as the state shifts to community-targeted efforts.
