A tale as old as time: wife leaves rich husband, husband dies and leaves a small fortune to the help who helped him get over her, ex-wife gives unbelievably bitchy statements to local tabloid. "He can leave it to whoever he wants to," Alan Meltzer's ex Diana told The Post of her lost fortune. "I’m doing fine. I could care less. If he wants to give it to the bums, he can give it to the bums. He could f--k a nun. I couldn’t give a s--t. He can give his money to whoever he wants. We’re divorced. The man is dead."
That lovely moment came after Murdoch's minion's traced Diana down for comment on the fact that her spouse of 13 years, the late Wind-Up Records mogul Alan Meltzer, had left a tidy sum of $1 million to chauffeur Jean Laborde and another $500,000 to doorman Chamil Demiraj. Reportedly after Diana left Alan he had turned to the two hired helpers for a shoulder to cry on. And they, at least, remember the man fondly.
"He was always joking. He never looked down on anybody," Laborde, a 54-year-old father of five, told the paper. "He was such a nice guy. He left me money, but it’s not a good deal for me because it means he’s no longer here."
