So yesterday's incident where a car crashed into a Canal Street tourist store, sending the driver to the hospital and wrecking the business? Police and witnesses tell the Post that it occurred when "a black Mercedes making an illegal U-turn clipped a green Subaru in the rear."
The incident occurred around 5:30 p.m. yesterday afternoon. A witness says after the Subaru was clipped, its driver "started having a seizure and her foot was still on the gas." She then jumped the curb and the car went into the store. The driver was taken to Bellevue Hospital.
The Post adds, "A man and woman in the Mercedes fled the scene but later returned and were taken into custody, cops added. Charges were pending."
