What better way to ring in spring than enjoy a nice, scenic ride clinging to the top of the Long Island Rail Road? The Daily News scored a photo and video of one man enjoying his Sunday commute face down on top of the eastbound LIRR, a practice known as train surfing.
MTA spokesman Aaron Donovan said the man—whose photo was snapped as he passed through the Forest Hills station—is still at large, though officials are "working to find the individual" since train surfing is "obviously illegal."
How often does this occur, anyway? "I’ve been working here since '07, and this is the first time I've recalled this happening on the LIRR or Metro North," Donovan said. We're guessing this is what happens when you don't give people their seats.
