Police are looking for a suspect who stabbed another J train passenger in Brooklyn yesterday afternoon. The pair apparently got into a verbal fight that turned physical, police say, and some of it was caught on video.
According to the NYPD, the victim was a 19-year-old male who was on a northbound J train when, around 3 p.m., he got into a verbal dispute with another passenger that resulted in them physically fighting: The suspect "stabbed the victim with a sharp object in the lower torso. When the train pulled into the Chauncey Street subway station, the victim exited and the individual remained on the train, continuing northbound."
The victim was taken to Brookdale Hospital in stable condition.
Authorities released video of the struggle and described the suspect as approximately 25-35 years of age, 5'8" tall and 250 pounds with brown eyes, black hair. He was last seen wearing yellow work boots, a gray hooded jacket, and blue jeans.
Anyone with information in regards to this incident is asked to call the NYPD's Crime Stoppers Hotline at 800-577-TIPS or for Spanish 1-888-57-PISTA (74782). The public can also submit their tips by logging onto the Crime Stoppers Website at WWW.NYPDCRIMESTOPPERS.COM or texting their tips to 274637(CRIMES) then enter TIP577.
