A 59-year-old man was fatally stabbed aboard a J train in Queens during the Wednesday evening rush, according to the NYPD.

Police said the stabbing happened around 5:30 p.m. at the Woodhaven Boulevard subway station in the 102nd Precinct.

The victim was taken to Jamaica Hospital Medical Center, where he was pronounced dead, according to police. His name was not immediately released.

Police said a person of interest was taken into custody. The NYPD did not immediately provide additional details about what led up to the stabbing or whether charges had been filed.
