Police are searching for three suspects accused of mugging a man as he exited an elevator in the Lower East Side on November 23.
The 45-year-old victim was walking out of the elevator at his Henry and Clinton street apartment complex around 11:10 p.m. when he was grabbed from behind by a male suspect, surveillance footage shows. Once he was wrestled to the ground, two other suspects—a man and a woman—combed through his pockets, their counterpart continuing to choke the victim from behind. When done, the assailant dragged the man, now unconscious, back into the elevator, and all three fled.
Police are asking anyone with information to call Crime Stoppers at (800) 577-TIPS (8477), or submit tips at www.nypdcrimestoppers.com or by texting CRIMES (274637), then enter TIP577.
