The Rangers displayed their characteristic grit in a thrilling game with Boston that they won 4-3. The Rangers jumped out to a 2-0 lead, despite being outplayed, thank to goals from Ruslan Fedotenko and Carl Hagelin. Boston tied things up before the end of the second period as they blitzed Henrik Lundqvist with 24 shots. With the game tied at 3, the Derek Stepan scored his 14th goal of the year to give New York the win. The Rangers now have 91 points, good for a ten-point lead in the Eastern Conference.
Paul Pierce hit a three-pointer to tie the game at 103 and the Celtics went on to beat the Knicks in overtime 115-111. New York played a sloppy game, committing 22 turnovers with Jeremy Lin and Baron Davis losing six each. Carmelo Anthony had 25 points, but only shot 8-for-21 from the field. Rajon Rondo had an amazing triple-double with 18 points, 17 rebounds and 20 assists. The loss puts the Knicks under .500 again at 18-19.
Deron Williams was unstoppable as he led the Nets to a 104-101 victory over Charlotte. Williams scored 57 points and went 21-for-21 from the line. He added 6 rebounds and 7 assists to his amazing night.
Kyle Okposo had the only goal of the game as the Islanders beat the Devils 1-0.
