- Pacers 98, Nets 80: The Nets can't just depend on Vince Carter if they want to win more games. In their game against the Pistons on Friday, Devin Harris led the team in scoring and Josh Boone, Yi Jianlian and Carter all contributed with double-digit scoring efforts. Unfortunately Harris sat Saturday night due to injury and although Keyon Dooling was able to contribute with 17 points and Carter scored 31, that was just about all the offense the Nets could muster. The rest of the starting lineup only scored 12 points. And while the Nets led the Pacers 51-49 after the first half, they were only able to score 29 points the rest of the game.
- Penguins 4, Islanders 3 SO: This is another game that got away from the Islanders. Leading 3-2 entering the 3rd period, New York was able to hold the lead until Pittsburgh tied it up with 3:15 left in the game. The Penguins outshot the Islanders 18-1 in that decisive period. In the shootout, Petr Sykora beat Joey MacDonald on the Penguin's first attempt. In the Islanders final attempt, by Trent Hunter, Penguins goalie Dany Sabourin stopped the shot, but he fell into the net. Officials ruled that, while Sabourin was in the goal, there was no evidence that the puck crossed the line.
- Capitals 3, Rangers 1: The Rangers lead the Eastern Conference, but faced a Capitals team that didn't have a home loss all season. Washington went up 2-0 in the first period, which was all they would need for the win. The Rangers scored on a power play goal by Aaron Voros, but given a chance to tie the game on a penalty shot, Chris Drury was unable capitalize.
- Red Wings 3, Devils 1: New Jersey faced a well rested Detroit team in Detroit, where they haven't won since 1996. Kirk Maltby scored twice for the Red Wings and Zach Parise scored New Jersey's only goal.
