Mets 4, Dodgers 2: Dillon Gee made his first start since April 23rd, stepping in for Chris Young, who was scratched just before the game because of shoulder issues. While he allowed just two runs in his outing, Gee was shaky, loading the bases twice. The two teams headed into the 8th inning tied, but the Mets were able to score two runs in the inning off a bases loaded single by Justin Turner. Francisco Rodriguez closed out the game with his 9th save of the night. Andre Ethier was held hitless, ending his streak at 30 games.
Rangers 7, Yankees 5: After joining the rotation, Bartolo Colon has pitched well for the Yankees. Last night, that was not the case. In just 4 1/3 innings, Colon allowed 9 hits and 5 runs. While the Yankees eventually tied the game in the 6th inning, they were unable to stop the Rangers from scoring in the bottom half of the inning on a go-ahead squeeze bunt by Julio Borbon.
Red Bulls 1, Galaxy 1: New York jumped ahead early on a goal in the 4th minute by Thierry Henry — his 4th goal of the season, all coming in the last 4 games. The Galaxy scored the equalizer later in the first half on a header by Landon Donovan off a David Beckham corner.
