After an ugly loss to the Packers at home, the Jets now visit another NFC North foe, the Lions. Detroit has upgraded from terrible to bad, but they aren't a team to completely look past. Still, the Jets need to use this game to get right the parts of their game that aren't working as well as they have earlier in the year.
The first thing they must worry about? Mark Sanchez. He's now been picked off twice each in the last two games after throwing zero interceptions in the first five. Luck probably helped him early as much as it has hurt him lately, but Sanchez still has to play better. The offense has hung the defense out to dry in two losses -- the Jets have allowed a combined 19 points in Week 1 against the Ravens and last week against the Packers. That said, if not for a 46-yard pass interference penalty against the Broncos, the Jets would be riding a two-game winning streak.
Against the Lions, Darrelle Revis or Antonio Cromartie will shut down Calvin Johnson. Matthew Stafford will be playing in just his third game this season. The Jets won't have any trouble keeping the Lions in check, so if their offense shows up, they will be in good shape.
